ANNE BUCKWALTER

My creative practice explores female identity and the coexistence of contradictory elements. Inspired by the folk art traditions of my Pennsylvania Dutch heritage, my work arranges disparate objects in mysterious rooms and ambiguous spaces. By imagining obscure narratives that embrace paradoxes, my paintings aim to delve into questions about the female body, intimacy, and gender roles.

Anne Buckwalter (b. 1987, Lancaster, PA) received her BFA from Tyler School of Art, and her MFA from Maine College of Art. She is the recipient of a 2020-2021 Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant. She has exhibited at The Armory Show ‘21, New York, NY; Center for Maine Contemporary Art, Rockland, ME; The Painting Center, New York, NY; Portland Museum of Art, Portland, ME; Woodmere Art Museum, Philadelphia, PA; Institute of Contemporary Art, Portland, ME; Boston University Gallery, Boston, MA; and others. Anne Buckwalter has been represented by Pentimenti Gallery since 2021.

BRANDON J. DONAHUE

Just as I dreamed of becoming a professional basketball player as a child, I also aspire to participate in the discussion of basketball as a transient, cultural object. In my “basketball blooms” series, the mundane basketball is transformed into a radial symmetric assemblage that comments on the human touch, form, history, community, and place.

Brandon J. Donahue (b. 1985, Memphis, TN) received his BS from Tennessee State University and MFA from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He has exhibited at such venues as Banneker-Douglass Museum, Annapolis, MD; Frist Museum, Nashville, TN; South Kentucky Performing Arts Center, Bowling Green, KY; and many others. His work resides in the permanent collections of Frist Art Museum, Nashville, TN; Banneker-Douglass Museum, Annapolis, MD; and many others. Donahue has been included in the book publication, “Common Practice: Basketball and Contemporary Art” by Carlos Rolon. Brandon J. Donahue has been represented by Pentimenti Gallery since 2021.

RAYMOND SAÁ

I’m very much interested in color and line, shape and pattern and the ability to build a composition. Most recently I have been captivated with the idea of stacked perspective, I often refer to my work as building a composition by stacking pattern and color on top of one another.
