ABOUT THE GALLERY
Pentimenti Gallery features content driven contemporary art which challenges traditional materials and aesthetics by a line of internationally established artists alongside young talent.
Over time, the exhibition program has broadened to encompass abstract and figurative aesthetics to innovative works created from unconventional materials (packaging tape, marine vinyl, embroidered x-rays, etc.). Throughout two decades, Pentimenti Gallery has maintained a commitment to process based work and elaborate craftsmanship.
Pentimenti Gallery opened in 1992 in the heart of the Old City Cultural District. In 2004, Pentimenti Gallery relocated to the former Casani Candy Company premises. In this historical building, Pentimenti Gallery has preserved its industrial appearance. The gallery includes Gallery one, Gallery two, a Project Room and an office/meeting space.
Our exhibitions garner critical attention from numerous publications including Art in America, the Art Economist, the Huffington Post, TimeOut New York, the Brooklyn Rail, The New York Post, USA Today, Philadelphia Inquirer, and more.
Pentimenti Gallery is regularly invited to attend recognized international art fairs such as CONTEXT Art Miami, MIAMI PROJECT, TEXAS CONTEMPORARY, PULSE NY, VOLTA NY, artMRKT San Francisco, and more.
We work directly with our artists, coordinating exhibitions in the gallery as well as in institutions, and also support public art projects and publications. The artists we represent have exhibited widely in institutions here and internationally.
Tuesday by appointment, Wednesday - Friday: 11 AM - 5 PM, Saturday: noon - 5 PM.
