Pentimenti Gallery is pleased to present two solo exhibitions: Ketabeh Eshghe (trans. Book of Love), a solo exhibition of works on paper & paintings by Hadieh Shafie, and Offshoot, a solo show of works on paper by Ilene Sunshine.


PENTIMENTI ARTIST HADIEH SHAFIE IN SOTHEBY’S AUCTION, LONDON.
Sotheby’s upcoming Contemporary Arab and Iranian Art sale will take place on Tuesday, October 4.
Pentimenti worked closely with Sotheby’s to bring Shafie’s work to the upcoming sale and is very pleased with the results of this collaboration. 10450 Pages, acrylic and ink on paper with printed and hand written Farsi text “eshghe” (translation “love”), will be put on auction alongside other major works by leading Arab and Iranian artists.

V&A announces the shortlist for the Jameel Prize 2011
Victoria & Albert Museum, London (UK)
The Jameel Prize is an international award for contemporary art and design inspired by Islamic tradition. Its aim is to explore the relationship between Islamic traditions of art, craft and design and contemporary work as part of a wider debate about Islamic culture and its role today.
Ten artists and designers have been shortlisted for this year’s prize, which is
awarded every two years. They are:
